Document storage systems
Create order at the desk quickly with filing systems
Sometimes you are so overwhelmed with paperwork in the office that you have no room to work because of all the letters, documents and invoices. Simply putting the documents in a pile creates space - but at the latest when you are asked a question about one of them or have to check something, the search begins. So this is not a real solution!
The first help against the inevitable flood of paper at the desk are filing trays, which are available as filing baskets or - more discreet and dust-protected - as filing boxes. In small offices, you can get by with an inbox and outbox, plus the obligatory "round filing" or "filing P" for the numerous advertisements that you inevitably receive as a company. For larger quantities of documents, however, more precise pre-sorting is required, e.g. invoices, delivery notes or quotations. Exactly which filing system you need depends, of course, on your individual needs - and on the space available at your desk. Since all baskets and most boxes can be stacked, even more complex filing systems can be realised in a relatively small space.
Filing systems are, of course, not intended for the permanent storage of documents, but only as a short-term solution to manage the chaos until the papers have been checked and processed. Only then do they find their way into the archive and can finally be filed away in a folder.
