At Verpacking.com you can buy large and small bubble envelopes to use for the secure shipping of relevant items
Deutsche Post AG has always been and still is the largest logistics provider for postal delivery in Germany. Its competitors take their cue from it in the delivery of mail of all kinds.
One of its advertising slogans is that it offers the right delivery service for every type and content of goods. If, for example, small items such as USB sticks and cables or lipsticks are to be sent, then the air cushion bag is the best choice. The cushioning film ensures that the contents are absolutely impact- and transport-proof. Bubble bags can also be purchased for large goods. The bubble envelope is generally rated as a normal letter. The postage is determined by properties such as format, weight and size, i.e. the thickness of the bubble envelope. Up to a weight of 500 grams, the shipment in a bubble envelope is also possible as a large letter, and at double the weight as a maxi letter. The postage will then increase accordingly. At Verpacking.com you can find large and small bubble envelopes for shipping items in all sizes. You can buy the bubble envelope in our shop.
In short, the bubble wrap is ideal for a wide range of shipping needs, from private to office, business and craft, thanks to its alternative closure types.
Why bubble wrap failed as wallpaper and became successful as packaging material
Seen from today's perspective, the invention of bubble wrap was more a coincidence than skill. At the end of the 1950s, two New York engineers, Carl Chavannes and Alfred Fielding, were experimenting with an easily applied and washable plastic wallpaper. They wanted to blow air between sheets and create bubble-like cushions to cover wallpaper. In the long run, they were quite successful in more ways than one. Even though the washable wallpaper didn't make it work right away, the result was still the foundation for the future success story of bubble wrap. The two engineers realised that their invention could be useful for mailing. Although at first they would never have expected that their failed attempt would later give rise to the bubble envelope.
The product itself has been an integral part of the shipping and packaging industry for decades, and is the most important component of today's bubble mailer. This is also due to the fact that air bubble mailers can be bought cheaply and, above all, can be stored in a space-saving manner. To ensure that the goods are protected during transport, the air bubble envelope has a good cushioning effect on the goods. This applies to goods in parcels as well as to small but still sensitive contents of the bubble envelopes.
The bubble envelopes protect your goods during transport.
Bubble envelopes are a special type of padded envelope whose inner walls are padded. This can, but does not always have to be done with bubble wrap. The air cushioning on the inside of the bubble envelopes prevents the goods from slipping during transport. This is ensured by the nubs of the air cushioning, which are located on the inside of the bubble envelope. The dimples are always a bump-like elevation on the surface and form a stable cushion for your goods inside the bubble envelope. In this case, the dimples provide cushioning and slip resistance in equal measure. In this respect, it should be noted that with every bubble wrap, the dimples are an integral part of the packaging itself and essential for every shipping bubble envelope.
Why the bubble envelope is the pressure- and shock-proof alternative to a parcel shipment
In everyday language, the terms bubble envelope, bubble mailer, bubble wrap, bubble envelope and bubble envelope are often used interchangeably or for one and the same thing. This is true in business B2B as well as in B2C - and even more so for the end consumer.
You can safely pack items of different sizes in the bubble envelope. The bubble envelope ensures pressure- and shock-proof shipping of the contents of goods and products. The craftsman sends individual screws and nuts, for example, in such a bubble envelope. A normal envelope is unsuitable for this purpose and packages or even parcels would be oversized compared to bubble wrap bags. USB sticks, CDs, DVDs, floppy disks and other data carriers are typical office-to-office shipments. Here, too, bubble wrap envelopes or, in other words, the bubble envelope are an ideal solution. The decisive factor is the padding of the inside of the bubble envelopes - this can, but does not necessarily have to be plastic film and studs. If you also have small to medium-sized items, the best way to send them is in a bubble envelope.
In a nutshell, bubble envelopes close the gap between standard letters and small parcels when it comes to sending small to very small items. In the meantime, you can also buy them cheaply, both online and in stationary shops.
The bubble envelope for fast, secure and uncomplicated shipments
One bubble envelope that was one of the first on the German market decades ago is the jiffy bag. The English jiffy bag means air-cushioned or lined bag for sending goods, and jiffy stands for moment or minute. This expresses that the contents of goods are shipped quickly as well as without effort, i.e. without the parcel shipment with logistics, effort, insurance and higher costs.
Bubble wrap and air cushion are two different things - with the same effect and success. Nevertheless, the properties of the cushioning material are quite different. The film as a cushion is naturally made of plastic - keywords: plastic, sustainability, recyclability. For the padding as such, the packaging industry is nowadays developing alternative materials and methods. What the Jiffy bag was in the last century is today's packaging standard and we call it the bubble envelope.
Jiffy bags consist of two layers of tear-resistant natron paper with a shock-absorbing padding of recycled paper. As single-material packaging, they are completely recyclable and available in a wide variety of sizes. Soda kraft paper is a mostly one-sided smooth, ribbed as well as tear-resistant paper. It is made from 90 plus X percent fresh, mostly unbleached sulphate pulp, also called kraft pulp.
How is this bubble wrap constructed and what are the advantages?
Bubble wrap, also known as pop wrap, blister wrap, bubble wrap or pop wrap, is an elastic and usually transparent plastic film used for packaging and padding sensitive items, for insulation or for void fill. The bubble envelopes are lined with this film. With paper film, paper takes the place of plastic as the lining material. Paper films are quite comparable to bubble wrap in their properties, their effect and their impact.
The special properties of a shipping bag with air cushioning as shipping packaging include flat contents and shipping goods. One cushioning bag is stiffened by a cardboard insert, the other is padded thanks to cushioning film as an insert. Common materials of shipping bags include cardboard, paper, paperboard or corrugated cardboard. You can securely pack items in various sizes in the bubble envelope.
If you want to buy bubble envelopes, you first have to learn about the differences to normal envelopes. The properties of bubble envelopes are quite different from those of a letter. Bags are designed to hold and transport a larger to large volume. This also applies to mailing. Incidentally, depending on its dimensions and the shipping weight, the mailing bag offers a variety of options for saving on postage or varying the postage. You can safely pack items in different sizes in the bubble envelope.
The bubble envelopes in the form of a bubble wrap consist of two layers of welded polyethylene, PE for short, plus a smooth cover film and a second layer. The envelope is padded with nubs to protect the goods. This is done by a vacuum roller and nap cylinder. To protect the goods from impact, the envelope has air cushions that cushion the goods well. The three-ply version has a second smooth cover film - this makes the bubble envelope even more resilient. Small dimples have a diameter of up to 10 mm.
A high-quality bubble envelope is made of uncoated FSC® paper. FSC® stands for Forest Stewardship Council® as an international certification system for sustainable forestry and forest management. The wood grows in forests that are responsibly managed according to FSC® specifications.
High-quality air-cushioned mailing bags can be easily separated into paper and bubble wrap - keyword: disposal on the one hand and recycling on the other. After the bubble wrap has been removed, the remaining inner bag can still be used.
Order a suitable bubble envelope at a reasonable price - whether large or small in the formats A1-K10
Unlike an envelope, a bubble envelope has different internal and external dimensions. The difference in size between the inside and outside is due to the air cushioning or bubble wrap that is applied. The packaging industry has agreed on about a dozen standardised formats. In addition, it is up to each manufacturer to offer different formats for the individual shipping bubble envelope. In our shop you will find many different sizes in which you can order bubble envelopes at a reasonable price.
The difference between the outside and inside dimensions is two centimetres in one direction and one centimetre in the other.
The CD format measures 20 x 17.5 cm on the outside and 18 x 16.5 cm on the inside. The following size designations follow: A1 outside 12 x 17.5 cm, B/2 14 x 22.5 cm, C/3 17 x 22.5 cm, D/4 20 x 27.5 cm, E/5 24 x 27.5 cm, F/6 24 x 35 cm, G/7 25 x 35 cm, H/8 29 x 37 cm, I/9 32 x 45 cm and finally K/10 37 x 48 cm.
The envelopes are assigned to the following DIN sizes
A/1 corresponds to DIN A7, B/2 - A6, C/3 - A5, D/4 - B5, E/5 - B+, F/6 - A4, G/7 - C4. H/8 - B4, I/9 - A3, K/10 - C3. The CD format is specially designed and suitable for sending CDs. On Verpacking.com you can find bubble envelopes small and large.
How bubble envelopes combine high quality and environmental friendliness
Bubble bags are made of kraft paper or plastic and bubble wrap. Bubble envelopes made of kraft paper are mainly used for mailing. Depending on the manufacturer, you can choose between the outer colours brown, golden yellow and white.
Kraft paper, the most commonly used material for bubble wrap envelopes, is the strongest type of paper. It is produced up to a grammage of 120 g/m². Paper with a higher grammage is called kraft liner - it is mainly used for the production of corrugated board.
The positive aspects of kraft paper and therefore also of the bubble envelopes made from it are high quality on the one hand and environmental friendliness on the other. The raw materials are renewable conifers such as spruce and pine. Kraft paper consists of almost 100 per cent cellulose.
The three types of closure for bubble wrap padded bags
The most common types of closure for padded bags are the adhesive closure, the clip closure with sample bag clips and the pressure-sensitive adhesive closure.
In terms of adhesives, adhesion is generally the adherence of adhesive layers to a surface. In the case of an envelope or bubble envelope, the adhesive closure is one that can usually be closed and reopened a few to several times. In this respect, these bubble envelopes are intended for multiple use. They are preferably used for sending books and brochures.
A prerequisite for closure types such as the clip closure is that the bubble mailer has two or more holes. Sample bag clips or flat-head clips are inserted into these holes and spread sideways on the reverse side. The alternative designation is the staple closure with bag, spread, closure or round head staples. This bubble envelope with padding can be used several to many times as long as it is not damaged elsewhere. The flat head clips are used until it is necessary to replace them with new ones. The clip closure offers advantages such as non-destructive opening and resealing of the packaging - for example, for control purposes of shipments such as books and goods. So if you want to send goods in a bubble envelope, you need to find out beforehand which closure is the right one for your goods.
Bubble envelopes from their different materials and their properties
If you want to buy bubble envelopes, you should first consider what type of bubble envelopes you need. Bubble envelopes come in different designs, made of different materials. Each mail order company must decide individually which is the right option for them.
Envelope with bubble wrap
This is the classic, in other words standardised, bubble envelope. The end consumer in the local retail trade or also in the online trade is hardly aware of the variety and variants of bubble envelopes. For them, it is crucial that the contents to be shipped are protected by air bubbles. The only other criterion is the type of closure. You can choose between the closure types adhesion and clip with clip. At Verpacking.com you can order both types of bubble envelopes.
Grass paper bubble envelope
The criterion for these bubble envelopes includes a volume share of grass from 30 percent upwards in the paper production as a biological filler. Nowadays, grass paper is used for packaging such as cardboard boxes and folding boxes, for brochure stands and also for bubble envelopes.
The difference between a grass paper envelope and the otherwise familiar, conventional variants is visually recognisable at first glance. Just like the bubble envelope, the grass paper envelope is free of plastic. Grass mown in the meadow is dried into hay and then processed into paper in a patented process. The subsequent production of padded envelopes is in no way inferior to other comparable products in terms of formats and properties.
Padded shipping bag:
The padding, or in other words the inner life of the bubble envelope, is what ultimately determines how environmentally friendly and sustainable the bubble envelope actually is. The alternative to bubble wrap made of plastic is bubble wrap made of impact-resistant kraft paper. At the beginning of the 2020s, this form of cushioning is still rather on the rise. The material, including the bumps inside the envelope, is not made of plastic but of double-wall kraft paper - just like the outer cover of the bubble envelope itself.
The complete absence of plastic is a unique selling point for these bubble envelopes. If it is also equipped with a clip closure or a reusable adhesive closure, then that is a high degree of sustainability. New purchases are automatically reduced through reuse, and the final disposal is completely recyclable or compostable.
Bubble mailer made from recycled base materials:
The main stock materials of this version of the bubble envelope are all recyclable. Added to this is the FSC®-certified uncoated paper. The padding is made of the proven bubble wrap. The bubble wrap is easy to remove and can be reused individually. The special feature of this mailing bag is the bag material as such. The recyclable base materials preferably include grass, waste paper and paper. The FSC® certification is a guarantee for the use of resources from sustainable forestry and forestry management. Using grass fibres also has the advantage that grass grows again every day - a tree, on the other hand, takes years to decades.
Individual mailing bag including company logo in digital print:
The mailing bag or bubble envelope as an advertising medium - is that possible?
Yes, digital printing makes it possible! With digital printing, a printed image such as the company logo can be transferred directly from the digital file to the printing machine and then onto the print medium such as a mailing bag, bubble envelope or bubble wrap.
The padded envelopes can be digitally printed in colour as well as with a slogan, company logo, lettering or anything else you like. Experience shows that a digitally printed mailing bag is used more than once - and as a real eye-catcher is more likely to be kept or collected than recycled.
Why bubble wrap pads are essential for protecting goods in a mailing bag
Whether it's a shipping bag or bubble wrap, whether it's a bubble envelope or bubble envelopes - the wide range of products on offer is matched by a comparably large demand. The customers and buyers come from both the B2B business in commercial trade and B2C in retail, both stationary and online. Shipping with bubble envelopes has become an indispensable part of today's mail order business.
In many everyday situations, it is impossible to do without bubble envelopes for shipping. The use of bubble wrap for shipping goods, products and printed matter offers many advantages - from the choice of several closure types to postage and company logo imprinting. Whether you need a small or large bubble envelope, you'll find it here.
