However, it should be noted that the use of the Warenpost service requires a contract to be concluded in advance, which presupposes certain annual shipping volumes.

A contract is required to use the Warenpost service

  1. The contract generally requires a specific shipping quantity per year. The exact minimum quantity may vary depending on use for the small parcel or international “Warenpost”.
  2. A contract is also required for Warenpost International. The minimum quantities may vary depending on the destination. For example, you can use a single rate, which requires at least 5 shipments per quarter, or the kilo rate for sending 500 international goods shipments per quarter.
  3. The contract can be concluded online via the official DHL website. You can specify the quantity of your expected shipments per year to receive a customized offer for Warenpost postage. This simplifies the registration process for mail order companies and businesses.

Please note

It is important to consider that the exact terms and conditions of the contract are set by Deutsche Post or DHL and may be subject to change. To find out the current requirements and conditions for concluding a "Warenpost" contract, you should contact the providers directly.

Does Warenpost include shipment tracking?

DHL Warenpost is a popular choice for small businesses and online retailers looking for a cost-effective shipping solution for their small shipments. But how does the Warenpost DHL shipping option benefit business customers? The fast delivery within one day not only offers efficient processing, but also improved customer satisfaction. The option to deliver shipments directly to Packstations is particularly practical, allowing recipients to receive them flexibly and conveniently. The transparent shipment tracking gives senders and recipients an overview of the current status of their shipments, which strengthens confidence in the shipping process.

In addition, services such as shipment notification make planning easier for customers and make the shipping process even more customer-friendly overall. Branch routing ensures that undeliverable shipments are made available for collection in branches, which reduces the costs and effort involved in returns. With the GoGreen option, senders can also book climate-neutral delivery of their consignments, which helps to reduce their ecological footprint.

Are your shipments insured?

Despite these advantages, there are also limitations. The maximum sizes and weights of shipments are limited, which can restrict the shipping options for certain products. The maximum sizes for your Warenpost box are 35.3 x 25 x 5 - 10 cm (length x width x height). The maximum permitted weight is 1000g. Compared to DHL Paket, either no liability or limited liability is offered, which may represent a risk for the sender. However, the limited liability only applies to the "Warenpost International Premium" shipping option.

Returns management is also more complex compared to other DHL shipping options, as there are no special extensions or return forms. This can lead to problems, particularly when delivering valuable products. Overall, there are a number of advantages to sending small shipments, but potential disadvantages should be considered when deciding on this shipping option.

These additional services can be added

Filial-Routing:

Filial-Routing is a service that ensures that shipments that cannot be delivered are made available for you at the nearest store. The price for this service, which is €1.49, is only charged if the item is stored at the branch due to non-deliverability.

This means that if the delivery person is unable to deliver the item, it is automatically stored at the branch so that you can collect it there. This reduces the cost and effort of returns and ensures that your items are stored safely until you can collect them.

GoGreen:

GoGreen is an environmentally friendly option that you can choose when booking your consignment. If you book GoGreen, this means that your shipments will be delivered in a climate-neutral way. In other words, the CO2 emissions caused by the transportation of your boxes are offset by environmental projects.

With this option, you actively contribute to environmental protection and reduce your ecological footprint. This service costs you €0.01 per shipment.

Return Fee (Rücksendeentgelt):

The "Rücksendeentgelt" (return fee) is an additional DHL service that covers the costs of returning the shipment to the sender's address. This service is charged regardless of the reason for the non-deliverability. This applies if DHL is not responsible for the non-deliverability.

It also applies in all cases in which a return shipment is necessary due to the "branch routing" service commissioned by the sender. Costs of € 2.00 per shipment are incurred for the return fee service.
